I think I speak for everyone when I say, “He wasn’t retired already?”
Rip hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2012-2013 season, so no disrespect to my main man Richard Hamilton (cause he was a baller), but you’ve BEEN retired.
Hamilton played 921 games in the NBA averaging 17.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists with Washington, Detroit and Chicago. Rip was selected with the 7th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft, he was an NCAA National Champion with Uconn in 1999, a consensus NCAA All-American twice, he was a 3-time NBA All-Star, he won an NBA title with the Pistons in 2004.
Rip was one of the best I’ve ever seen at coming off screens for a catch & shoot situation, he was impossible to guard off the ball and seemingly NEVER ran out of energy. He was always moving, never stagnant and could drop a jumper in your eyeball if you gave him an inch of space.
Sure, Nurkic was trying to be a bit of a dick here, but I can’t believe the NBA has gotten to the point where handing the ball to someone is an automatic technical foul. This kind of thing used to happen literally EVERY single game in the NBA, the ref would walk over and say something to the two players about keeping cool and the game would go on like normal.
Now referees give out technical fouls like like Oprah gives away free prizes during her talk show.
YOU GET A TECHNICAL FOUL, YOU GET A TECHNICAL FOUL, YOU GET A TECHNICAL FOUL………EVERYONE GETS A TECHNICAL FOUL!!!
Derrick Rose injured his right knee and will require surgery……again, no wait, AGAIN.
Let’s take a quick look at the career timeline of one of the most athletic point guards I’ve ever seen, like we’re watching one of those historical war documentaries, directed by Clint Eastwood or Ken Burns.
- 2008-2009, Derrick Rose wins the NBA Rookie of the Year award.
- 2009-2010, Derrick Rose plays in his first NBA All-Star game.
- 2010-2011, Derrick Rose wins the NBA MVP Award.
- May 2012, Derrick Rose has surgery to repair torn ACL in his left knee.
- November 2013, Derrick Rose has surgery to repair torn meniscus in his right knee.
- February 2015, Derrick Rose will have surgery to repair torn meniscus in his right knee.
At first glance, this looks like the worst home-video version of Any Given Sunday meets Friday Night Lights set in Oakland that ANYONE could ever imagine. But then towards the end of the promo, there’s a bit of a porn-ish vibe happening and it seems like “Beast Mode” is about to start crushing ass on camera in the name of art, film and football. I’m so confused right now.
UConn cornerback and NFL prospect, Byron Jones is an Afffffffleeeeeeeete; on Monday at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine he not only set NFL combine records but also WORLD RECORDS.
His vertical leap marked at 44.5-inches, to put in some perspective: Byron Jones could jump over an Olympic hurdle (3.5 feet tall) without any kind of running start, from a still position he can jump over it without bending his knees and lifting his legs up at all. The only thing I can jump over like that is a phone book (after a warm up).
Jones also recorded an astonishing 12-foot, 3-inch broad jump that set not only a combine record, but also shattered the WORLD RECORD of 11-feet, 4 1/2-inches.
As several NFL General Managers salivated over his results, the real question for the Corner Back is can he cover anyone?
Ricky Rubio ice skated his way out of position while attempting to defend the “Lumberjack South-Paw”, James Harden last night in Houston.
Rubio’s ankles were last seen yesterday around 8pm Eastern time, they are now officially reported missing and as every police procedural tv show has ever taught us, the first 48 hours of a missing person case are the MOST critical.
NFL Media’s Rich Eisen took to the field today at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine to once again run the 40-yard dash and raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
I think Rich Eisen needs to recruit more middle-aged men in suits to run with him next year, Dan Patrick, Keith Olbermann, Scott Van Pelt……..I’m talking to you. I’d rather watch that than half-naked, roided-out linebackers doing broad jumps and vertical testing.
This just in, people on local news can be dumber than you think:
Earlier today, Ohio Fox 8’s Kristi Capel fell in love with Lady Gaga’s performance at the Oscar’s by saying, “It’s hard to hear her voice with all the jigaboo music…that she…whatever you want to call it…jigaboo, haha!”
When Kristi found out she’s an idiot via twitter, she publicly apologized for her statement (although STILL most likely had no idea what she was apologizing for):
