Last night Steph Curry lit up the Cleveland Cavs like a roman candle on the 4th of July, dropping 35 points, 4 assists, 3 steals and 5 rebounds in 28 minutes of play. The Warriors routed the Cleveland Lebrons 132-98 , completely solidifying their spot as the best team in the NBA (as if there was any question).
I’ve never seen a Lebron team get trounced like this before, begging (over-rectionary) the question; Is Lebron’s reign over?
This sequence of events helped pose AND answer that question for me:
Just to recap: Curry hits a DEEP three in Dellavedova’s grill, talks a little shit, FRUSTRATES Lebron on the defensive end to the point that LBJ throws Steph to the floor and picked up a dumb foul. THEN comes down and drills another three right in Iman Shumpert’s face-parts. Fast-forward to the final score, 132-98 Warriors win.
Not to say that the torch has been passed completely, BUT it sure feels like the tides are changing and the landscape of the NBA is evolving into Steph Curry’s playground.
